Although most of our time will be with-in the property, dressing in layers is the key to comfort all year in Kansas City. Due to the elevation, evenings do cool off, so plan accordingly if you anticipate being out and about after the sun sets.
During the winter, daytime temperatures average in the 40s with overnight lows below freezing. Expect Snow.
You also need Delta Chi casual with an evening of Ritual. This means packing your Pin attire is essential for the experience.
DON'T FORGET YOUR PIN ATTIRE!
(Coat, Tie, Dress Pants & Shoes, Delta Chi Pin/Badge)
Your parking in included in your reservation.

What’s the rooming situation
You will be staying in hotel rooms with your chapter brothers (four brothers per room). If your chapter has an uneven delegation number, some brothers may room with other chapters. Delta Chi Dale Carnegie Scholars will room with other scholars or their chapter members, pending the number of attendees. experience. If your chapter has questions about the cost, please contact your Regent.
If you are an alumnus, Rooming for the RLA alumni experience was selected in your registration. You will receive your hotel room at check-in.
YOUR MEALS ARE INCLUDED
All meals are included during the RLA experience including dinner on Friday night (January 17th) from 6-7pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring additional snacks as needed as there are limited snacks provided outside of traditional meal times.

When and how will my chapter be reimbursed for travel?
Chapters will be credited their travel reimbursements to their chapter accounts. The amount of travel reimbursement is determined by the Board of Regents and is based on the distance traveled to and from the RLA location. In addition, chapters will only be reimbursed for travel if all attendees attend all required sessions. Attendance will be taken at every session.
OTHER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Delta Chi’s four Regional Leadership Academies (RLAs) are a full one-stop program for our chapters/provisional chapters to engage in leadership development, officer onboarding, recruitment training, professional development, brotherhood, and Regional/Fraternity business.
The RLA experience will help chapters/provisional chapters better prepare for their upcoming recruitment initiatives, jumpstart their executive board experiences, and enhance their intrapersonal skills. The 2025 RLAs will provide:
- The “A”s’ Academy experience
- Leadership training for all lettered officers, Associate Member Counselors, and Recruitment Chairs
- Recruitment training for all attendees
- Delta Chi’s Dale Carnegie Scholar Program
- Dale Carnegie training for all participants
- Risk Management training for all participants
- Delta Chi Ritual
- Brotherhood activities
- Regional business sessions
RLA will be held over the course of two weekends, and chapters/provisional chapters must attend the event corresponding with their Region. RLA sessions will begin on a Friday with dinner and end mid-morning on a Sunday before lunch.
Chapters must attend their designated RLA based on their Region. Regions will still be conducting regional business and attending a different RLA conference outside of the Regional location will not be permitted.
- Weekend 1: January 17-19, 2025
- Central & Midwest Regions: St. Louis, MO at the Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel.
- Southeast Region: Atlanta, GA at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast
- Weekend 2: January 24-26, 2025
- Northeast & Mid-Atlantic Regions: Philadelphia, PA at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cherry Hill
- Western Region: Reno, NV at the Peppermill Resort
Chapters are required to send a minimum of four members to RLA but are expected to send a delegation of at least eight. Below is the breakdown of expected chapter attendance:
- Chapter “A”- Required
- Dale Carnegie Scholar- Required
- Lettered Officers: “B”
- Lettered Officer: “C”
- Lettered Officer: “D”
- Lettered Officer: “E”
- Lettered Officer “F”
- Recruitment Chair
- Associate Member Counselor
Chapters/Provisional chapters are required to send a minimum of four members to RLA but are expected to send a delegation of at least eight. The incoming chapter “A” (or the “A” that will be in office in January 2025) is expected to attend “A”s’ Academy as stated by Delta Chi Law. As “A”s’ Academy is part of RLA, they will need to be present.
A chapter’s Dale Carnegie Scholar must also be in attendance to participate in the full in-person Dale Carnegie course.
The rest of the chapter/provisional chapter delegation should be made up of lettered officers, the Recruitment Chair, and/or the Associate Member Counselor. Anyone who attends will be expected to select a specific officer training track to participate in for RLA.
Should a chapter/provisional chapter not meet its attendance requirements, it will not meet the minimum standard for attendance and will be on minimum standards (bad standing). This will impact the Chapter/Provisional Chapter’s ability to vote during regional business sessions.
No. Alumni and advisors must register separately from chapters/provisional chapters. Chapters/provisional chapters are required to have a minimum of four members in attendance but the cost of RLA covers up to eight members. Alumni can register separately for the RLA experience, and participate in the alumni/advisor track and all general sessions.
There are several expectations for all attendees for RLA:
- RLA is a substance-free event throughout the entire program (Friday-Sunday). If any attendee violates this expectation, they will be asked to leave RLA at their own expense and chapters/provisional chapters may face disciplinary action from their Regent. This could include not meeting the full attendance requirements for the program.
- All Participants are expected to comply with the Fraternity's Risk Management Policies during RLA.
- All participants are expected to attend every session of the program to receive full attendance credit and for their chapter/provisional chapter to be eligible for travel assistance.
There is an option for alumni and friends of Delta Chi to serve as a small group (known as POD) facilitator for one of the officer training tracks during the RLA experience. To express an interest, please fill out this form by October 15, 2024: RLA Call for Facilitators
All chapters/provisional chapters will be charged the $1200 RLA Assessment fee approved by the Board of Regents. This will cover the registration (including program materials, RLA shirts, etc.), meals (Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast), and hotel costs (two nights) for up to eight (8) representatives. Chapters/provisional chapters may send additional representatives for a fee of $150 per person (which covers the same items).
RLA participants will share hotel rooms with their chapter/provisional chapter brothers. Rooms will accommodate four members per room. For those chapters/provisional chapters registering more than eight members, those individuals will be placed in a hotel room with other Delta Chi members (typically Dale Carnegie Scholars will be roommates as their schedule differs slightly from the rest of the attendees), and to the best of our ability, placed in rooms near or with their chapter/provisional chapter members. All representatives must register themselves to attend RLA, and during registration will need to select one of the officer tracks to attend during the program. Late registration fees will apply for those registered after January 2, 2025 or on site.
ALUMNI
The cost for alumni to attend RLA differs depending on the package they select. An overview of the registration (which includes all meals for the selected dates), is outlined below:
- Full Weekend (Friday - Sunday): $415.00
- Saturday-Sunday Only: $315.00
- Friday Only: $105.00
- Saturday Only: $255.00
All alumni representatives must register themselves to attend RLA, and during registration will need to select their registration package. A late registration fee will apply for those registered after January 2, 2025 or on site.
All individuals will need to register themselves to attend RLA. It is recommended that each chapter/provisional chapter "A" ensure this is completed during an officer transition meeting or executive board meeting in advance of the registration deadline, to ensure the required attendees are included in the delegation. Chapters/provisional chapters must have a minimum of four participants registered to meet RLA attendance requirements and remain in good standing with the International Fraternity (including their "A" and Dale Carnegie Scholar).
Yes. Due to the nature of RLA programming, all attendees will be expected to stay at the host hotel regardless of proximity to RLA. Participants can expect early mornings and late evenings and the cost of RLA covers lodging, meals, and conference participation.
RLA participants will room with their chapter/provisional chapter brothers. Rooms will accommodate four members per room. Alumni will have different accommodation options available for them to select as part of their registration.
Schedule and specific arrival times will be released soon. Participants should expect to arrive in time for dinner on the Friday of their RLA session, and depart prior to lunch on the Sunday of their RLA session. If you have questions about departure and arrival times, please contact Director of Education, Kristen Kardas at kkardas@deltachi.org.
Yes. Regional business sessions, including Regent elections, will be held on Saturday of their RLA program.
Cost of additional attendees will be released soon. In 2024, chapters/provisional chapters that registered more than eight representatives were invoiced $125 per each additional member. Those members were be placed in a hotel room with other Delta Chi members, and to the best of our ability, placed in rooms near or with their chapter members.
Absolutely. Chapters/provisional chapters can register as many additional members as they wish; however, there will be a cost for each additional member. Chapters/provisional chapters should send their full executive board (all lettered officers), Dale Carnegie Scholar, Associate Member Counselor, and Recruitment Chair. Chapters are encouraged to bring additional members, but each attendee will need to register themselves and select a specific officer training track to attend.
Yes! Any member can register themselves to attend RLA. However, they will need to select the specific officer training track they will participate in during RLA. Tracks will be available for all lettered officers, the AMC, and Recruitment Chair.
RLA attire expectations are as follows:
- Friday: Delta Chi casual for travel and initial sessions
- Saturday day: Polos and Chinos/Khakis
- Saturday evening: Suit & tie for dinner, business meeting, and Ritual exemplification
- Sunday: RLA shirt (received at check in)/Delta Chi casual for final sessions and travel home
Alumni are encouraged to attend RLA and participate in all general sessions (including Ritual exemplification, the Dale Carnegie Keynote, the Recruitment Keynote from Phired Up, Fraternity Business Sessions, and Regional Business Sessions), as well as breakout sessions specific for alumni/advisors.
Yes. Every chapter will be invoiced the full cost of attendance, regardless of their RLA delegation size. This is why it is recommended that they send a full delegation to receive the most cost-effective return for their chapter.
Yes. Dale Carnegie Scholars must attend their RLA with their chapter/provisional chapter in order to participate in the program. Scholars will attend virtual introductory sessions in early December and early January 2024 (prior to RLA) and will finish the full Dale Carnegie Course throughout the RLA weekend. They will also have the opportunity to complete their college credit application and learn how to add an exclusive LinkedIn certification to their profiles during RLA.
The Board of Regents is reviewing the weather policy. Once it is approved, we will share it here.
