Although most of our time will be with-in the property,  dressing in layers is the key to comfort all year in Kansas City. Due to the elevation, evenings do cool off, so plan accordingly if you anticipate being out and about after the sun sets.

During the winter, daytime temperatures average in the 40s with overnight lows below freezing. Expect Snow.

You also need Delta Chi casual with an evening of Ritual. This means packing your Pin attire is essential for the experience.

DON'T FORGET YOUR PIN ATTIRE!
(Coat, Tie, Dress Pants & Shoes, Delta Chi Pin/Badge)

Your parking in included in your reservation. Questions about parking can be directed to your onsite staff lead Kristen Kardas.

OTHER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Delta Chi’s four Regional Leadership Academies (RLAs) are a full one-stop program for our chapters to engage in leadership development, recruitment training, professional development, brotherhood, and Fraternity business before the spring term. The RLA experience will help chapters better prepare for their upcoming recruitment initiatives, jumpstart their executive board experiences, and enhance their intrapersonal skills. The 2024 RLAs will provide:

  • The “A”s’ Academy experience
  • Leadership training for all lettered officers
  • Recruitment training for non-lettered officers and recruitment chairs
  • Delta Chi’s Dale Carnegie Scholar Program
  • Dale Carnegie training for all participants
  • Recruitment training for all participants
  • Risk Management training for all participants
  • Delta Chi Ritual
  • Brotherhood activities
  • Regional business sessions

Chapters are required to send a minimum of five men to RLA but are expected to send a delegation of eight. Below is the breakdown of expected chapter attendance:

  1. Chapter “A”- Required
  2. Dale Carnegie Scholar- Required
  3. Recruitment Chair- Required
  4. Lettered Officers: “B”
  5. Lettered Officer: “C”
  6. Lettered Officer: “D”
  7. Lettered Officer: “E”
  8. Lettered Officer “F”

Yes. There are several expectations for all attendees for RLA:

  • RLA is a substance-free event throughout the entire program (Friday-Monday). If any undergraduate member violates this expectation, they will be asked to leave RLA at their own expense and chapters may face disciplinary action of their Regent. This could include not meeting the full attendance requirements for the program.
  • All Participants are expected to comply with the Fraternity's Risk Management Policies during RLA.
  • All participants are expected to attend every session of the program to receive full attendance credit.

Yes. Chapters are required to send a minimum of five men to RLA but are expected to send a delegation of eight. The incoming chapter “A” (or the “A” that will be in office in January 2024) is expected to attend “A”s’ Academy as stated by Delta Chi Law. As “A”s’ Academy is part of RLA, they will need to be present. A chapter’s Dale Carnegie Scholar must also be in attendance to participate in the full in-person Dale Carnegie course as well as the Recruitment Chair to attend Phired Up recruitment training. In addition, the Chapter must send the required number of representatives to meet their attendance requirements set by Delta Chi Law. Should a chapter not meet its attendance requirements, it will not meet the minimum standard for attendance and will be on minimum standards (bad standing). This will impact the Chapter’s ability to vote during regional business sessions and/or the 2024 convention in Fort Lauderdale, FL in July 2024.

The registration cost per chapter is $1,000 which includes meals and lodging for three days for eight chapter members ($125/person). Chapters can expect hotel rooms (four men per room) and all meals included for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning. Chapters will be invoiced to cover the cost of the Regional Leadership Academy. Should chapters register more than eight members, the chapter will be billed per additional member ($125 each).

RLA participants will room with their chapter brothers. Rooms will accommodate four members per room. Alumni will have different accommodation options.

Participants must arrive by 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024 and should plan to depart at noon on Monday, January 15, 2024. If you have questions about departure and arrival times, please contact Director of Education, Kristen Kardas at kkardas@deltachi.org.

Yes. Regional business sessions will be held on Saturday and Sunday of the RLA program and Regions will vote on their business as needed.

Chapters that register more than eight representatives will be invoiced $125 per each additional member. Those members will be placed in a hotel room with other Delta Chi members, and to the best of our ability, placed in rooms near their chapter members.

RLA attire is Delta Chi casual with the exception of Ritual Attire needed for Ritual Exemplification. In addition to Delta Chi casual attire, attendees should bring their suits, ties, and Delta Chi badges for the Ritualistic Session on Saturday night.

Alumni are encouraged to attend RLA and participate in Ritual, the Dale Carnegie Keynote, the Recruitment Keynote from Phired Up, Fraternity Business Sessions, and Regional Business Sessions.

Yes. Dale Carnegie Scholars must attend their RLA in order to participate in the program. Scholars will attend a virtual introductory session in early January 2024 (prior to RLA) and will participate in the full Dale Carnegie Course throughout the RLA weekend. A major benefit to this in-person experience is that Scholars will complete the course over one weekend in comparison to the spring 2023 program which occurred over eight weeks.
