IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Delta Chi Fraternity is pleased to announce the hiring of James Ratliff as the Director of Finance, effective July 30, 2019. Ratliff brings seven years of accounting and business affairs experience to the Fraternity, with previous stints in the corporate sector and non-profit settings.
“I am excited to have James join our team as we continue to modernize and leverage technology to better manage our financial affairs,” Jerod Breit, Executive Director and CEO, said. “James brings a wealth of knowledge and practice to Delta Chi. Our staff, chapters, and colonies will benefit from his experience.”
Prior to joining staff, Ratliff served as the Staff Accountant at Badger Daylighting Inc., where he excelled in billing, expense management, inventory, bookkeeping and AR analysis. He spent time as the Accounts Receivable Manager and Associate Director of Business Affairs at Lambda Chi Alpha, accruing industry experience managing finances while directly engaging chapters throughout the United States. Ratliff improved the chapter collection rate from an all-time best of 96.5% to over 98% during his five years. He also served as head of payroll, billing, chapter taxes, and assisted with month-end and year-end functions for accounting in the fraternity and foundation.

Ratliff earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs and Public Financial Management from Indiana University, graduating in 2010. He also earned a Business Foundations Certificate from the Kelley School of Business. When he is not working, Ratliff is an avid basketball fan, cheering for the Indiana Pacers and Indiana University Hoosiers. He also has an interest in video gaming.
