Lockwood and Millard Promoted to Executive Leadership Roles

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana –The Delta Chi Fraternity and Executive Director & CEO, Karl Grindel, Central Missouri ’01, are pleased to announce that Davis Millard, Kansas State ’17, has been named the Associate Executive Director & COO, and Heather Lockwood has been named Chief Marketing & Experience Officer effective May 1, 2023.

“I am extremely excited to announce these well-deserved promotions,” Grindel said. “With Heather and Davis in these executive leadership roles, we better prepare Delta Chi for the future and solidify our ability to offer quality programs and services to our members in the years ahead.”

Millard has been on the Fraternity’s staff for over five years, beginning as a Leadership Consultant in 2017, prior to departing staff to work as a campus-based professional. Millard returned as the Director of Member Safety in 2019.

As the Director of Member Safety, Millard led the Fraternity’s risk reduction efforts, which reduced chapters on Corrective Action by nearly 80% during his tenure. Millard championed the Fraternity’s partnership with Plaid, LLC in 2022 to bring industry-leading online risk management education to members and assisted in transitioning the Fraternity’s Learning Management System (LMS). Millard led efforts to add a second staff member focused on risk reduction, hiring the Fraternity’s first Assistant Director of Member Safety.

“I am excited to continue serving the members of Delta Chi in this new role alongside Karl, Heather, and accomplished staff,” Millard said. “When you look at the Fraternity today, including our partnership with Dale Carnegie, industry-leading recruitment numbers, and the launch of the Membership Experience Survey – it is a great time to be a Delta Chi.”

Lockwood has been on the Fraternity’s staff for over six years, beginning as the Director of Fraternity Growth in 2017, and most recently as the Sr. Director of Operations in 2019. With over ten years of industry experience, Lockwood has been a change agent for the International Fraternity since she joined the Delta Chi team. While on staff, Lockwood redeveloped and created a cohesive framework for the Fraternity’s expansion program leading to a 92% success rate in securing expansion projects in highly competitive environments.

As the Senior Director of Operations, Lockwood developed and launched a new coaching model in 2019 which elevated chapter services during the pandemic and beyond. She strengthened key organizational partnerships like the V Foundation for Cancer Research and launched the Delta Chi Bracket Challenge. In addition, Lockwood has been instrumental in Delta Chi’s marketing and communication initiatives throughout her tenure. First, creating the Fraternity’s cohesive expansion brand and now leading the marketing and communications initiatives for the entire Fraternity. She has streamlined operational processes, elevated our educational programs, managed the Fraternity’s strategic initiatives, and, most recently, executed and managed Delta Chi’s partnerships with Dale Carnegie and Dyad Strategies.

“Delta Chi has changed exponentially in the past six years. I believe that doing Fraternity right means being part of Delta Chi,” said Lockwood. “We are doing exciting things and we have just scratched the surface of the Fraternity’s full potential. I’m excited to continue my work guiding and supporting the Fraternity in this leadership capacity.”,
