Heather Lockwood Announces Departure from Delta Chi International Fraternity After Nearly 8 Years of Service
Indianapolis, October 18, 2024– After nearly eight years of dedicated service, Heather Lockwood, the Chief Marketing and Experience Officer of Delta Chi International Fraternity, will be stepping down from her role on Friday, October 25th, 2024. Throughout her tenure, Lockwood significantly contributed to Delta Chi’s growth, strategic leadership, and overall member experience, positioning the Fraternity for continued success.
Lockwood joined Delta Chi in February 2017 and quickly became an instrumental leader in the fraternity’s expansion efforts. Her strategic direction revamped Delta Chi’s growth program and developed a comprehensive chartering process that not only determined chapter readiness for chartering but also assessed chapters’ growth in learning and forward-thinking strategies.
In 2019, Lockwood was promoted to the senior leadership team, where she oversaw Growth and Chapter Services and supported the Fraternity’s strategic initiatives and special projects, including its response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, Lockwood revamped Delta Chi’s coaching model prior to the pandemic, ensuring a robust coaching experience adaptable to both virtual and in-person environments.
During the 2022-2023 academic year, Lockwood expanded her role overseeing Marketing & Communications, as well as Educational and Leadership Programs. In this expanded role, she redefined Delta Chi’s communications strategy, ensuring cohesive and impactful messaging aligned with the fraternity’s mission and values. Heather was instrumental in launching several key initiatives focused on enhancing the member experience. She led Delta Chi’s Membership Experience Survey (MES) in partnership with Dyad Strategies, spearheaded a groundbreaking collaboration with Dale Carnegie, which established the award-winning Delta Chi Dale Carnegie Scholars Program, and, this past January, she implemented the inaugural Delta Chi Regional Leadership Academy (RLA). This cornerstone initiative focuses on leadership development, operational support, and skills training for chapter officers and members.
“When I joined Delta Chi, my goal was simple: to leave the fraternity better than I found it,” said Lockwood. “Today, I can proudly say that Delta Chi has grown, evolved, and is poised for an exciting future.”
“Heather has been key to the development and implementation of Delta Chi’s newest member experience initiatives. Her work will impact the Fraternity for years to come and she can be proud of the progress Delta Chi has made during her tenure. We wish her the best as she tackles her new opportunity.” Karl Grindel, Executive Director, shared.
Lockwood will be moving on to a new opportunity where she will continue her passion for impacting the fraternal industry. Her commitment to growth, leadership development, and innovation will undoubtedly influence and benefit other organizations in the same way she positively shaped Delta Chi.
Delta Chi International Fraternity extends its deepest gratitude to Heather for her loyalty, leadership and unwavering dedication. Her contributions will leave a lasting legacy within the Fraternity, and she will be greatly missed.
