IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Delta Chi Fraternity is pleased to announce that Paul Bierman has been promoted to Director of Meetings and Events, as announced Thursday, June 27, 2019.  Bierman previously held the role of Events & Strategic Projects Coordinator and has been with Delta Chi since January 2018. 

“I am proud of the hard work Paul has done over the past year and a half,” Jerod Breit, Executive Director & CEO said.  “His attention to detail and focus on fiscal responsibility in meeting and event planning has already reduced costs and because of his management, we are able to better allocate resources or increase/improve the quality of logistical operations for these events.”

Bierman leverages technology to keep Delta Chi’s event programming cost-effective while offering the best possible experiences to members and supporters.  He joined the staff in a temporary role as a Coordinator of Events, earning a permanent spot on staff after serving in a crucial role for the planning and execution of the Fraternity’s 61st International Convention. 

“He is a hard worker who has never asked ‘why’ and always takes the lead on any project, regardless of his portfolio.  I am excited to announce that Paul will be relocating to Indianapolis, Indiana with the team later this summer.”

Prior to working for Delta Chi, Bierman was a Fulbright Thailand grantee, where between bicycling and learning Thai, he taught English to middle and high school students. His passion for improving events and educational programming was built at Swarthmore College, where he ran a community-supported recycling program and served as a tutoring coordinator for the College Access Center of Delaware County.

When he isn’t putting his anthropology degree to good use and working his way towards becoming a Certified Meeting Professional, Bierman can be found making food (or thinking about it).
