International Volunteer Appreciation Week 2019

… one thing I know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.”

Albert Schweitzer

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Delta Chi is excited to once again participate in Volunteer Appreciation Week. The outstanding work of our volunteers is instrumental in our ability to provide positive, safe, meaningful experiences for all of our members. We see this at the local level, where volunteers serve as “BB”s, ABT, and Housing Corporation members, guiding and supporting the work of our undergraduates. We see it at the regional level, where volunteers work to provide meaningful opportunities for connection at programs like Regional Leadership Conferences. We see it at the international level, where people share their time and talents on committees or facilitating educational programs.

If asked, most of us could think back and share a story of a time when a volunteer provided some much needed wisdom, supported us through a challenging time, or assisted us in achieving a goal. These stories can be powerful, and sharing them can be a great way to let others know of the positive impact they have had on us. To help in these efforts, we hope that you will take a moment to share a story as well. By taking a few moments to fill out this quick form, you can help us tell the story of volunteer impacts within Delta Chi.

Our members give back in a variety of ways in their community for very impactful causes. We are grateful for those that choose to give back to Delta Chi. Regardless of how you volunteer, we are grateful for your service. The insights, experiences, and passion that you share carries a lasting impact in a real and personal way. This is another example of the benefits of being part of our fraternity and that Delta Chi is as relevant and meaningful  today as it was at the time of its founding in 1890. Thank you for sharing your wisdom when meeting with students, responding to messages at all hours, celebrating the wins, challenging everyone to be better, asking insightful questions, and all you do to help us be a positive and powerful force for change in the lives of our Brothers.
