Foundation Internship

The Delta Chi Educational Foundation is seeking a highly motivated individuals who are looking to gain practical work experience in a non-profit organization. Good communication habits, advanced computer skills and superior people skills are a must. We are seeking independent leaders who are able to efficiently accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.

Interns will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Fundraising and Development Research and Best Practices
  • Social Media and Digital Marketing
  • Event Planning and Logistics Coordination
  • Donor Relations and Stewardship Management

Internships are based in Delta Chi’s headquarters office in Iowa City, IA, and are unpaid. Work may be completed remotely. Candidates may be able to receive academic credit. Intern’s work schedule will be no more than 20 hours a week. Actual duties and work hours will be adjusted to meet the needs of the intern. Completing an internship with the Delta Chi Educational Foundation, does not guarantee employment with the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidates should be majoring in nonprofit management, public administration, statistics, business, or a related discipline.
  • Membership in the Delta Chi Fraternity is not required; knowledge of Greek Life organizations is preferred.
  • Candidates must be currently enrolled or recently graduated from an institution of higher education.
  • Must be a self-starter, have excellent written and oral communications skills, perform well under pressure, and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Comfort with interviewing donors and students, data mining, and evaluating survey results.
  • Proficiency in the following software programs: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with the Adobe Creative suite (InDesign, Photoshop) a plus!
  • Experience and comfort with all major social media platforms, including: Facebook and Twitter.
  • Familiarity with standard fundraising practices or experience in fundraising/sales are plus.
