Crawford Selected to serve AFA

James Crawford (Wilmington ’10) was recently elected to the Nominations and Elections Committee of the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors (AFA). Those involved in the Board and committees of AFA are not only leaders of the Association but also stewards for the fraternity and sorority communities on a national scale. This appointment is a true testament to James’ hard work and dedication over the years and the faith that his colleagues have in his ability to make contributions to the industry as a whole.

“Being involved with AFA provides me the chance to represent my organization on a national level, continue to give back to the fraternity and sorority experience, and help lead the members of the organization along and the communities that we work with as professionals,” Crawford said. “I’m a firm believer that it’s important to be positively engaged and involved whether it’s during or after undergraduate years and this is a great opportunity for me to do my part.”

Brother Crawford is currently serving as the Assistant Director of Greek Life at Vanderbilt University after three years of service to the Office of Greek Life as Coordinator, having worked with all three of the councils IFC, NPHC, and Panhellenic. James was selected as the 2015 Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors Gayle Webb New Professional of the Year, an award designated for recognition of an outstanding professional within three years or less in the profession for their exemplary work. He attended The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, earning a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and The University of South Carolina at Columbia for his Masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs. James currently lives in Nashville, TN with his wife, Lori, and his Corgi, Pancake.
