James Ratliff was born west of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Indiana University and earned his degree in Public Financial Management with a Business Foundation Certificate. While at IU, he joined the Lambda Chi Alpha Chapter as a first-year student, eventually serving as a recruitment leader.
Upon graduation, Ratliff served as the Accounts Receivable Manager and eventual Associate Director of Business Affairs for the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity Headquarters. He’d go on to work as a Staff Accountant for Badger Daylighting, a hydrovac, hydro-excavation, potholing, and vacuum truck services company. While there, he managed AR analysis, inventory and account reconciliations, employee expenses, and assisted with month-end review and financials.
Ratliff joined the Delta Chi Fraternity IHQ staff in July 2019.
“The Director of Finance position with Delta Chi is a position I desired within an organization I think very highly of, Ratliff said. “I believe my talents and knowledge serve the organization well and I look forward to helping the Fraternity preserve and advance its strong financial position.”
His role in Delta Chi to lead the billing and collections from chapters and colonies, facilitate transactions for our investment and housing committees, produce financials, and provide insight and leadership on financial matters related to the Fraternity.
“I encourage chapters to reach out to me for help on how much to bill members and Associate Members, budgeting, and how to navigate difficult situations on collecting from members.”
When he is not working, Ratliff is an avid fan of the Indiana Pacers and Indiana University Hoosiers. He also has an interest in video gaming.
