Ben Ely Hired as Director of Communications and Publications

IOWA CITY, IowaThe Delta Chi Fraternity is pleased to announce the hiring of Ben Ely as Director of Communications and Publications.  Ely is a native of Texas, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications at Angelo State University (ASU), while also completing his master’s degree in Emerging Media and Communications at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD).  Prior to his hiring, Ely spent time as a Marketing Communications Manager at Phi Kappa Psi in Indianapolis, Indiana, spearheading the organization’s evolving digital marketing and communications approach while assisting all departments in the advancement of fraternity-related initiatives.

Prior to his work in Greek life, Ely worked in college athletics as a Sports Information Director, with his last stop coming at IUPUI.  There, he was responsible for all communications, publications, and marketing related materials used in conjunction with the advancement of the department’s 17 varsity sports.  With a heavy emphasis on journalism, publication design, graphic design, and social media management, Ely also assisted with videography, photography, event planning, game day management, training, website design and content, and fund raising.  He previously spent time at Illinois State University, UTD, and ASU.

“I’m extremely excited to join the staff at Delta Chi and even more excited about the direction leadership is taking the Fraternity,” Ely said of his hiring.  “I feel that Delta Chi is taking the strides necessary to be a leader in the industry and will in time set themselves apart from other Greek organizations.”

Ely replaces Christian Wargo, who served as the Fraternity’s Director of Communications and Events.
