Aaron Wilson Named Associate Executive Director

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Delta Chi Fraternity is pleased to announce that Aaron Wilson, Kansas ’02, has been named the Associate Executive Director & COO, as announced by Executive Director & CEO Jerod Breit, Central Missouri ‘04.  Wilson comes to Delta Chi with 15 years of diverse leadership experience, most recently helping launch a healthcare start-up in Arizona by designing the company’s internal and external operating infrastructure.  Wilson oversaw human resources, patient care teams, business growth initiatives, marketing, and the billing department.

“First, I would like to thank Jerod for the opportunity to serve our Delta Chi brotherhood and I am incredibly excited to join such a strong headquarters staff,” Wilson said of his hiring.  “From educational programming and alumni engagement to chapter expansion and member safety, Delta Chi aspires to be the best.  I look forward to working with Jerod and the team as we continue the growth of Delta Chi by promoting and sharing our values.”

Prior to his work in Arizona, Wilson spent five years in higher education. Working at the University of Colorado Denver, Wilson was hired as a member of the administrative staff, tasked with designing a club sports program.  Securing funding and successfully launching eight teams as the Club Sports Coordinator while providing oversight opened the door to transition into Division I collegiate athletics.  Wilson moved to the University of Denver in fundraising as a Development Associate and then on to Arizona State as a Director of Operations.

“Aaron brings a love for our Fraternity, a drive for operational success, and a personality that will complement our strong team at The Delta Chi International Headquarters,” Breit said of the hiring.  “His experience in development, management, customer service and growth will play a key role in his work as the Associate Executive Director & COO.  Both I and the entire Fraternity look forward to him coming on board in such an important role.”

Prior to work in higher education, Wilson spent eight years in retail and customer service management.  A series of promotions took him through seven different states and provided regional, district, and store leadership responsibility while working for Abercrombie & Fitch, Best Buy and Metropark.

Wilson earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in English from the University of Kansas in 2003 and an MBA from the University of Colorado Denver in 2013.  As a Delta Chi at KU, Wilson served as the chapter “F”, Brotherhood Chair, Intramural Chair, and was an Associate Member Class President.  Wilson brings a unique perspective on chapter excellence as the Kansas Chapter was awarded the President’s Cup four times during his undergraduate experience.

“The leadership experience I gained as an undergraduate in Delta Chi was the catalyst to earning my first role as a manager.  I am honored to be part of the team that will help develop the next generation of societal and business leaders.”

Outside of work, Wilson has spent the past two years as a board member for the Kansas Alumni Association in Phoenix.  Coordinating social media for the group and organizing a watch site keep him busy in his spare time.  Wilson looks forward to relocating to Indianapolis with his wife Karolyn and their dog Koa.
