Peter Lane Hired as Director of Development

The Delta Chi Educational Foundation is happy to announce the hiring of Peter S. Lane (Georgia Southern,‘07) as the Director of Development.

Peter returns to Delta Chi after nearly a decade as an Executive Recruiter serving the marketing and technology industry in Atlanta, GA. He previously worked for Delta Chi as a Leadership Consultant, Director of Expansion, and Convention Coordinator from 2007-2008. He is a Founding Father of the Georgia Southern Chapter, and served as the “A”, “B”, Recruitment, Brotherhood, and Fundraising Chairman, among others; a proud attendee of the inaugural “A”’s Academy. He earned his Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America in 2001, and served six years in various leadership positions at Boy Scout Camp Rainey Mountain, including two years as Program Director; also working professionally with the B.S.A. as a District Executive in Gwinnett and Walton counties (Georgia).

Peter is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), an applicant to become a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), and he is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of Georgia.

He served four years on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association, two years as Membership Director, and three years as the Tournament Director for the AIMA Scholarship Classic, which he co-created. He led corporate development efforts through his executive network, which generated over $70,000, and helped lead to the creation of the AIMA Educational Foundation, which grants scholarships for college students pursuing a career in digital marketing.

As a Delta Chi volunteer, Peter led the Development effort to build the Georgia Southern Chapter house, and simultaneously served six years as ABT President, leading to the Chapter’s first President’s Cup. He has served as Vice Regent for Region VIII since 2013, and has attended over a dozen RLCs in his region, along with his fifth Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. He also serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for Barrister Capital Corporation (Delta Chi’s national house corporation). He has been recognized by Delta Chi with a Meritorious Service Award, and is a recipient of the prestigious Michael L. Carroll Region VIII Alumni Service Award. Recently, he led the Development effort to create a Chapter Scholarship Account at Georgia Southern, through the DCEF, and secured a lead gift worth $10,000.

Peter lives near Atlanta, in Roswell, GA with his wife, Krisi, 8-month-old son, Lachlan, and their dog, Mollee. He is a season ticket holder to Georgia Southern football, and loves tailgating with his friends and fellow Delta Chi alumni.

Peter describes his excitement of becoming the DCEF’s Director of Development as “coming home” and is thrilled for the opportunity to lead Delta Chi in this manner. Peter will begin in this role, working-remote, on November 6, 2017.
